This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Please state precisely what is happening and what your real question is.

Do you mean to say that one side of the engine stops getting ignition? I am sure it would be impossible for you to detect if one of the 2 sparkplugs was not firing as the other would still ignite the fuel / air mixture.

Ray,

I'm trying to help you here but you aren't cooperating.

Please, what prompted you to try and determine this condition? Was there a running issue, or what? If something was amiss, what was it that caused you to even begin to examine this issue?

Also, precisely how have you determined this condition of the spark disengaging at 4,500 rpm? Unless you had a monitor on the 4 different plugs, such as a 4 channel oscilloscope, and you were continuously monitoring the spark output, there is no way you would be able to determine this from just running or sound.

Again, what are you trying to do here and why? If I understand what and why, then I can give you help.

Also, I'm sure you don't mean 45,000 rpm.

Slow down, be accurate, and precise. It will help immensely.

There are 4 High Tension Ignition Coils on a 1400 Eldorado. Each spark plug is driven by it's own coil which is controlled through the ECU. I am unaware of any publication from Moto Guzzi which elucidates the logic by which the system operates. Usually, in other systems I have seen and worked on, the spark is always present, but perhaps there is some reason that Moto Guzzi would have it be interrupted. I do not know and I don't believe anybody else would either. This is not a common question anybody would normally ask.

I read somewhere the second set of plugs cut in above a certain rpm, is that correct? and could that be what he is getting at?

He’s stating the opposite. That he has determined that his second spark on both cylinders, is not firing after 4,500 rpm’s.

We are still waiting to hear precisely how he has determined this information.
