I have a 73 eldorado civilian and I want to swap an ambassador dash on. I plan on running a speed hut electronic speedometer. I found an acewell cable adapter that fits guzzis but I'm wondering if there's any issues or special parts I'd need to mount it to my front end.

I'm assuming the forks and front ends are the same. on the eldorado I don't see the bolt holes for the two rear mounts. I'm hoping they're hidden underneath.

Check the part numbers for the top plate/upper triple clamp. If the part numbers are the same the Ambassador dash should fit.

the numbers are off by one digit. cant find any pictures to confirm but i did realize the police edition dash has the same mounting positions as the older ambassador dash. now looking at the police parts supplement they dont show anything on the front end changing. i guess i can just pull my cluster to look for the holes. i just assumed someone has done it before because the civilian 850 dash is so f-ing ugly

Ambassador and Eldorado "dashes" can be swapped without any issues. Top plates are all the same except on the V700. There are some minor wiring differences though.

my plan is to reuse the ignition and indicator lights. im going to buy the different colored lights so i know exactly what each one is for and HOPEFULLY be able to fit them in a V pattern on the pad where the ignition is placed. if i dont have enough room ill probably try to find a smaller ignition without the big face on it. if all works out ill send the info over to mr.bender for addition to thisoldtractor

i think all ive have to do for wiring is tap into the switched power wire for the electronic speedometer. speedhut lets you customize the face alot which i like. im trying to decide if i want to style it based on a ambassador or eldorado style gauge face.

Is it possible to get indicator lights built into the gauge? Drilling holes in an original (getting quite rare) Guzzi "dash" is best avoided IMO.

I do understand what you mean. the only lights they have are high beams and signal indicators. I'm not running blinkers so it's kinda useless. plus I don't think it's really a bad modification. I think it would look good and although I'm not into custom bikes I do like properly done modifications. I can't run a ambassador speedo on a eldorado and the quality of the Italian gauges isn't great overall.

I used a Convert speedometer in a early Ambo "dash" on one of my projects. I put all of the warning lights in the headlight bucket (which someone had drilled previously).
