Hi there all guzzinista's i own 2 Guzzi's with the same problem and I need help.
'07 Sport 1200 2v - bought and ridden in Scotland till i moved back to Oz 2017 and imported it( not recommended)
'07 Breva 850 2V bought in oz '08 ridden til O/S 2014 back on road Feb '18

Since I arrived back and put Breva back on road and waiting till import of sport I noticed that after a ride on a "warm" day 25c + i would ride for about an hour and stop, the bike won't start again, nothing not a tick click or even a sigh (well except for me...) wait a couple of hours and it will start.
I did keep detailed notes on this which I will find...ah here they are..

I monitored the battery voltage as displayed

After arrival home
Sport
12.4v
On start dropped to 9v and returned to 12.4v and slowly rose to 13.0v

Put on charge showing half full

Start v 12.1
Dropped to 9.9v and started...

Breva

10/1/18
Started volt on ride to Auburn 13.4 flicking to three 27c
Started at cals straight away 31c
Half hour later wouldnt start bike said 37c
Ride for1hr 32c
Started after stop in dandy and every 10min after then left for 1 hr started 32c
Volt 13.0 to .1 never higher??????

Work around start bike straight after stopping x2 seems to work..???

5/2 started breva dropped side stand wouldn't start same thing...

7/2 same thing again dropped side stand and nadda....

Notes go on but I think the idea is evident..
Have the bikes serviced and worked on By Ollee Racing Carrum Vic, Lee is a great bloke and knows his mechanical stuff but is as mystified by this, one of his suggestions is the voltage regulator, quite possible.

This problem doesn't want to go away and makes riding a bit of a pain trying to stop in areas that I can roll start it (or take a faithful son with you for a push :) thanks Cal)

Has anyone experienced this and or any advice.
I was considering buying one of those phone booster packs that can do emergency charging.
Kind regards

First, never believe the voltage read on the dash. It will always be lower than actual battery voltage. Let us know if you have done the starter relay mods on these bikes. https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/modern-no-start-issue-solution.4908/ Also be sure all battery and ground connections are good. Just because it is tight, doesn't meed you have good connectivity. I've had similar issues, and cleaning the cables at the battery solved the issue. They may look like there is no corrosion, but sometimes just a surface coating will break the connection. My cables looked clean, but electrically they weren't.

I had exactly the same on my Sport did the power cable to starter relay mod and it has not done it since.

the link in John's thread is the answer

Bellisimo...grazie mille thank you thank you thank you....light at the end and i didn't realise it was a "standard issue". Electrickery isn't my forte but have aready sent a message to Lee at Oilee racing to get ready for both bikes...
Once again thanks and makes me realise i should have reached out a long time ago...
Molte Grazie.
