Hi all, hope someone can help. My neighbor bought the V9 new and relocated his job from Hong Kong to China just after buying it and it has only done 150 miles, that was 2 years ago. So I’ve said to him I’d get it back running again, cleaned up etc. Replaced battery and a couple of bits, a good wash and it’s running.
But.....
1. Engine management light and ABS light stay on. flash at start up, solid light on the go.
Bike will only run normally with engine management turned OFF
After turning off then on the bike, engine management sets back to 1 and lacks all power, so I turn off to run properly.
2. Reset functions like Rev limiter for running in and setting CODE don’t work.I can reach the set up point using the MODE button but once there toggling UP or DOWN the MODE button doesn’t do anything.....
Any ideas please people.....
Cheers

The good washing may be the culprit. Get some contact cleaner and disconnect every connector you can find and clean the contacts. Prime connections would be ECU, Dash, Sensors.

Cheers John. Unfortunately this was happening before the good wash too. But going over the connections is a good idea. Cheers
