Evap Line removal

I'm new to the Guzzi world. Wanting to take the fuel tank off my new-to-me 08 1200 Sport. Apparently it's never been off. I don't want to cut the factory hose clamps for the evap system until I know I can just replace them with regular hose clamps. Are these two lines under low pressure?

Also, wondering if you can point me to the post that would advise on replacing that nasty fuel line connector with a better one.

Sorry if ti's been covered; I'm 71, and my specialty is Bing Carbs and points! I have trouble finding the right threads on these forums. I may never even find the answer to this post! I'm six hours from a dealer so your help is appreciated.

The evap hoses don't need to have clamps cut. They are spring clamps. One of the lines is for the overflow at the tank filler. The other is for the evap system. Just mark one line at the connector so the correct ones are re-connectred. There is no pressure in those lines. Also see this post on the fuel connector. https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/removing-fuel-line-quick-disconnect.20279/ Once you get the hang of fuel connector it is easy. Also once the tank is off, make sure the fuel filter has been changed from the half plastic to all metal https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/fuel-filter-mahle-kl145.14058/#post-100043 Also if you replace the fuel filter be sure to use Oetiker clamps or specific fuel injection clamps.

The two hoses are not under pressure and should have spring type clamps. One is a drain line from the fuel filler and the other is for the evaporative system. just make one so the correct lines are re-connected. The fuel line is easy to disconnect. It is like an air line connector. See https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/removing-fuel-line-quick-disconnect.20279/ Also make sure the fuel filter is all metal as th half plastic ones fail. I would hope that in 12 years it has been replaced, but who knows. An all metal filter is the same as the one used in 1980 K bikes. If you do replace the filter, use Oetiker clamps or fuel injection specific clamps.
