    Hi All,

Im looking at putting some exhaust wraps on my V7 headers - purely because I think they look cool. Has anyone had any horror stories? Will they ruin my pipes? Should I treat them first?

Any info would be hugely helpful :)

    Thanks!!!

I'd say no. It will trap moisture and that over time will even degrade stainless steel.

Don't do it. Corrosion is a sure thing.

Please no, it looks so cheap and pathetic. Especially on such a nice bike.

I did some research and there seems to be some scientific evidence that keeping the exhaust gases hot contributes to better flow.
I did it to the Honda - and was keeping track of temps using the oil temp gauge it has.
I was initially thinking it was helping , but after a while when it got warmer it didn’t seem, to really make a difference.
It gets quite hot, so even after a ride home in the rain they dried themselves out.

It really depends on the look your going for, I saw a Triumph twin around town that didn’t look bad...

PS: the fake CF stuff was on the bike when I got it ;)
I don’t feel so bad now - you can buy CF stickers for the new Corvette so I’m in good Poser company ;)
PPS: I used Clear Heat treat over black tape - WRONG ! Black on Black

I'm personally not a fan of the mummy pipes look, but to each his own. If you like it, I'd say go for it! Pics might even change my mind!

    Definitely not.
Would you put a bandage on your arm if it wasn’t broken?

And it’s easily reversible if you change your mind...

The Titanuim stuff might keep its color ( gold) better, the white/Black stuff just gets dirty gray, unless you touch it up with the black heat spray.

Google “wrapped exhaust” and you’ll see *Everything* - you won’t be able to Un-see !

Guy, stop wasting time. This is likely a drive-by, and this has been well covered. It will be deleted later today.
