F.S.M. at the Rock Store - Feb. 13th

I admire your enthusiasm, but that's what my dirtbike is for. :)
But you can't ride your dirtbike from here to Northern NV though.

Was up there today - roads were not too bad at all - just a couple of wet spots in the morning. Did Decker and Mulholland. The far north end of Mulholland is to be watched as it is not all that well traveled and had a bit of rock and water. Not bad if you're just cruising.

I'll be two-up with the wife tomorrow. Since we're both relatively new to doing the two-up thing, I'll be making an easy run from the valley to the Rock Store via Mulholland. We'll probably just head up the snake to Kanan Dune and down to PCH. I don't think either of us are ready for Decker, Latigo or similar yet.

Thanks for the reassuring road report, JD. You going to meet with us at the Ventura & Topanga Starbucks at 9:30? You can see from prior posts we have no intention of banzai-ing it. I was thinking the usual Stunt Road loop to the Rock Store, by no means as technical as Latigo, esp of not taken in a rush, & usually much cleaner as well. If not, we can just keep an eye out for each other, maybe meet up at the RS.

I hope to get away from here about 9am - we might stop there on the way (I'm up the street from there - Canoga and Roscoe more or less). We'll either go Topanga to Mulholland or 101 to Las Virgenes to Mulholland to keep it simple for us. We'll hang at the RS for a while then take Kanan Dune to PCH and off to Bergermont Station.

Bob, I can only report on Stunt/Schueren/Piuma/Muhlholland Raceway. As posted earlier, they have been doing shoulder reconstruction for the past few weeks, and the rains have only made it worse. That said, the roads are surprisingly clean, with a few completely random wet/dirty spots from water run-off, which many are still wet. Definitely not on the "sport" side of the day for most.

Was out & about on the Norge today, with Glenn & his Quota. We got to the RS about 3PM. Still too damn crowded for my tastes, though better by the time we left. Didn't see any other Guzzis.

took mullholland to cornell, had lunch with the GF at the the adobe. Took kanan > pch > Zuma > topanga > home. Crested the top of topanga just as the sun set. Gorgeous.
