I'm fortunate to have a friend who works for Piaggio in Costa Mesa. He offered to have me come by his place and have him help set up my suspension. Suspension upgrades include Wilbers shocks and Traxxion AK20 forks. I was complaining of wallowing, no confidence in it's handling.

I learned a bunch and was reminded of what I already knew but neglected to heed. He started with tire pressure, then worked back and forth with measurements loaded and unloaded. On and off the bike, over and over. In the end, the bike sits much more raked and is overall taunt on the road. I drove home and into work this morning like a mad man. Suspension is THE confidence builder. I know there is far more tweaking to take place and I suspect we'll lower the triple trees too.

We're going riding on Memorial day together. More updates to come after that day.
 
If the bike has more rake and you haven't raised the forks in the trees, then you raised the rear by lengthening the shocks. This has the same effect as raising the forks in the trees (quicker turn in at slow speeds).

Plus about 12 on replacing the rear shocks. Manufacturers always have to consider price points when building a bike. Shocks are an easy way to save money in production.

On and off the bike, over and over.

Getting the sag right with the proper springs for your weight is very important. I found the stock fork springs too soft and the rears too stiff. Your bike is now balanced front and rear and much more predictable.
