I searched this forum to see if this topic has already been touched on, didn't find anything...

This rumor surfaced in September of this year, and as always is denied by the parties concerned. Not sure if Sergio Marchionne would be good for Piaggio (and MG) or not. Marchionne certainly has drive and enthusiasm, but he isn't going to be around much longer, and in any case .who knows what his understanding of the 2-wheeled world is. I gather there are folks within the Ferrari organization who are less than pleased with Signor Marchionne. A Piaggio acquisition perhaps would be a preemptive move, given Audi's acquisition of Ducati, and now MB's interest in MV, but who knows...

Moto Guzzi's built in Mandello de Utapao?

Money fusion is always good, if and only if, the powers that be and bean-counters aren't compelled to force the inspirational few to just make money, and not handcuff the creativity that make the brand successful... which is VERY rarely if ever achieved.
One can look to AMF Harley to name just one.
Corporate politics never go well.

I'm not so sure. I've owned a Fiat and Alfa but to large a Corporation can be a bad thing for product.

Maybe it's because I've been stung recently by Convertible Arbitrage that I have a different opinion.

Some say it's my nature but Stealth is always good.
