Took me forever to get my VHB Dell'Ortos tweaked to the point where they'll hold an idle and my 74 Eldo seems to run really well right now. Except.... I am getting some popping on deceleration and the left cylinder seems to be running cooler that the right? I'm just doing the hand-on-valve cover test but I find that odd? I suspect the left side is running too rich maybe and sending more fuel into the pipe as opposed to igniting it in the cylinder? Is this a mixture adjustment on the carb? Any words of wisdom are incredibly appreciated.

Popping in the exhaust on the over run is almost always a leak at the header pipe . And richness
pretty well is never the cause ! Good luck :) . Peter

The air leak can also be where the header enters the muffler or if you have stock pipes, the connector pipe between mufflers. Decel popping can also be an indicatior of a lean condition. As to one cylinder cooler, check the temp at the header with an infra red thermometer. If both sides are the same jets, needle, needle position and atomizer they should be close enough. Every Loop or Tonti carb bike I've seen has one side slightly more blue on the header pipe which is an indication of exhaust temperature difference. Don't fret about it. If she runs well just ride.

Check that your choke cables have enough play and also check the rubber discs in the choke plungers, maybe one of them is not sealing properly anymore. With a pick they can be popped out and reversed.
