Cruisin' Guzzisti
This is an abridged trip report. A full version can be seen here: http://www.dankalal.net/2009trip7/trip.html
I wanted to stretch out on this one, so I aimed for Norway, without actually expecting to get that for in the twelve days I had available.
the first full day was spent in Milan
Then to Mandello del Lario to start the ride on a Guzzi Stelvio
Through Isola, then Spluga pass and onto Switzerland
I didn't spend much time in Switzerland, having been here just eight months ago.
The Tour of Switzerland came through Cazis.
Crossing into Liechtenstein
That first night in Ratholz, Germany
Through Oberlochen
I tried always to avoid the population centers
Hosenfeld for the night
This Edersee Dam was famously destroyed by the RAF Dam Busters (and then rebuilt in just months)
stopping at Verden
Local market
sometimes it's easier to eat simply
some roads are wider than others
crossing the Elbe
at Bredstedt
I packed very light. I did my washing every night.
The sun did not always shine.
Crossing into Denmark
Crops (I was waist-high into this field)
I'd cross the water at Hirtshals
welcome to Norway!
Whale meat is on the menu. Should I?
The road goes under the water south of Oslo
Interesting weather in Sweden.
and some very nice roads
Today is the summer solstice. Preparations are being made.
back in Denmark
Crossing the water back to Germany
Bad Oldesloe
Lauenburg on the Elbe
