Future California model?

Not sure if a one litre engine will be large enough to capture the cruiser market but I wish the attempt well.

They are the very last, hand-builder of motorcycles. The factory simply cannot produce much more than it does now and they sell everything they build.

It truly is classical Italian company in that they do things the way they always have.

Change is a complicated and highly resisted thing in Italy and remarkably and rather pleasantly, the Italians don’t give a damn about being the biggest of anything.

When I said "capture the cruiser market" I should have said " capture its own cruiser market. "
Cruisers in my eyes are ridden at speeds low enough so the rider can observe without destination and typically swap outright speed for other sensations like a strong pulsed vibration, a slow cadenced firing that is metronomic and a look that is so attractive that riding slowly simply adds to the viewers dwell time all the more.
It's here that I can see why large capacity, low rpm engines define the gentle art of cruising by and it leaves me wondering if 1000cc's is enough to give that 'muscle car' vibe to a market that 'generally' might expect it.
The weight aspect should be confined to history books as modern engineering can easily defeat that argument.

Has anybody worked out how much they can bore/stroke the new engine? What I really want is a new Griso or Centauro and it will probably need close to 150hp to be competitive with the Streetfighter V2
 
I’m afraid that your view of “competitive“ is unrealistic here. Moto Guzzi has never cared what Ducati does. Ever.

And it will never happen.

This is not Moto Guzzi. This is not what they do.

Never has been, never will be.
 
Ok maybe competing with the Streetfighter V2 is unrealistic (let alone the Streetfighter V4) but maybe a better comparison would be the R1250R which currently puts out around 130hp. I've bought 3 new Guzzis including the last Griso if they want me to open my wallet again I want a few more ponies.
