Griso REGISTRY & Picture Thread - ADD YOUR BIKE

Hi and thanks for letting me in to this forum. I’m Andrew, just got into riding again after 25 years off and thought dang it I’m gonna buy me a Guzzi, after years of lusting. It’s a 2016, one owner 10k kilometres. Immaculate condition thanks to previous owner, I hope to keep up his example.
Congrats and welcome Andrew. She's a beauty. Thanks for posting here, and the pic. Love to get your VIN# and related for the first post of this thread. Hope to see you here often!

Hey Grisoguzzisti !

As can be read here Introduction thread - Hello from Belgium! there's a new Griso in town!

I fell in love with the looks of the Griso since I saw pictures of the Tenni S.E. Must've been somewhere in 2014 of 2015. At that time, I'd just bought a BMW K 1300 R and I mistakingly felt like those two bikes wouldn't be very compatible, so I set the Griso plan aside to a later date where I would've outgrown or gone cold on the K13R.
Sadly (well yeah, sort of) the K 1300 R is one of the all time best motorcycles ever built (in my book) and after +100.000 km on it (including track use, off road mountain passes, top speed runs on German Autobahn, some serious travelling, and everything in between), it's clear to me that I will not part from it willingly.

So, back to the Griso. I've been looking out for a 'correct' one for a year or two. It should be an S.E. for sure (looks of the spoked wheels) but they're not that common anymore. Most of them that came on sale here in Europe still ran on flatties and that held me back.

And then, all of a sudden, a 2007 ZGULSE came on sale, with a string of mods to it that made it verrry appealing to me. Kineo tubeless spoked rims, some small personal touches with red accents, Agostini exhaust, roller kit C installed by the Agostini team itself in Mandello, etc. Contacted the seller, went to see it and bought it on the spot.

That's 2 weeks ago and I'm already totally Guzzified. :h:

I've only driven it twice: the pick-up ride home and a support group ride in memory of a fallen (killed) police officer here in Brussels. So I can't tell very much about its driving yet, but boy I do know this: she'll grow on me FAST. :h:

Seconds before my first EVER ride on a Guzzi:

(Yep, I've bought her "dry", without test drive. Oops.)

The ride home from Brussels to Ghent:

Look how compatible they are! They're like pieces of a puzzle. I was SO mistaken!

As you can see, she's a first production year Griso in black.
First registration is early 2009 but she's a 2007 built Griso, if I'm not mistaken.
She's done 22k km with her two previous owners.

Mods on the bike when I bought her:
- Kineo tubeless spoked wheels
- CARC torque bar by Radical Guzzi
- Agostini silencer with catalyst
- Corbin seat in carbon & asphalt leather with red piping
- Rizoma handlebars in anodized silver
- Gazzini handlebar weights in black
- Motogadget mirrors
- Gazzini indicators
- tailtidy of unknown brand
- carbonfiber flyscreen of an unknown Italian brand that's ceased to exist after the untimely death (road accident) of the owner
- carbonfiber timing cover of the same make
- handmade aluminium ring (Givi TankLock) of unknown origin
- frame plates painted in RAL 3002 (carmine) of 3003 (ruby) ... not sure yet, a RAL color chart is on its way so I can ascertain the color
- aftermarket heated grips

The bike came with all the original parts (rims, silencer, handlebars, bar-end weights, mirrors, grips, flyscreen, seat, rear end plastic stuff, indicators, ...

Also present: the original OEM Guzzi semi-rigid side pannier kit in very good condition AND the original Guzzi tank bag. The latter I will not ever use, but the side panniers might as well accompany me on a trip ... say ... over the Alps towards Mandello? :)

I plan some further mods to it, to my own liking/taste.
- Agostini straight connecting pipe (already arrived)
- passenger peg delete (already done)
- new, shorter, more minimalist tailtidy (ordered)
- Brembo brake calipers painted/powdercoated in matching red (used calipers and Brembo rebuild kits already arrived)
- black minimalist indicators
- reinstall of the original handlebars (the Rizoma silver doesn't match with the chrome-shadow silver paint of the Guzzi parts)
- engine finetuning with open air filter housing, BMC filter, piggyback ... and a dyno run backed specialist's finetuning
- ...

To be continued!

Well congrats, and welcome to the GT Forum & Guzzi Famiglia. Be forewarned of the addiction. Sooner than later you'll be saying BM-What? Hope to see you here often, and thanks much for posting the VIN# and pics!

A year or so after buying the Breva and a bit better off financially, I started looking for a bigger Guzzi. I came across an 8 valve, 1200 Griso that was for sale at a price I couldn't refuse. I bought it even though it wasn't red.

I fitted a Dart flyscreen, Hepko and Becker crash bars and number plate relocator, (same as the one on my Bellagio) and stripped and polished the radiator cover. Loved the manic speed and impeccable handling, but still pined for a red one, so I bought a red tank, had my painter colour match it and paint the rest of the body parts. Came up goegeous and being red, goes faster. 😉 184661608 483615089730241 7911131242149745530 n

Hi folks,
Recently retired to Oz; bringing a couple of Honda 4s and the lovely Griso from the UK. Relatively new to Moto Guzzis, and somewhat in awe of its power. It’s a 2011/ 1200SE in Tenni Green, with about 7000 miles, and so mint it’d pass for showroom new. I’ll be keeping it this way as only a recreational rider, and only when the sun shines.
At around 3000 miles I personally rollerised it, and added in the thicker sump gasket. Last year I regreased the head bearings, as well as the rear suspension roller bearings. The bike is never short of attention and over-serviced tbh.
My other bikes are a recently fully restored (by me) 1973 CB750 (concours and regularly ridden) and a 1969 Sandcast CB750 - again mint and somehow smuggled into the living room.
Looking forward to the help & knowledges of the forum. Many thanks.

Don't know how I missed this, but thanks for posting, and good on you for the rosso conversion. Might you list your VIN# and related for the first post here?

Welcome to the GT Forum. Is the Griso your first Guzzi? Hope you’ll add your info to our Registry. Enjoy the Forum.
Thanks, and yes, the Griso is my first Guzzi. While most of my touring riding is on my Multistrada, I fell in love with the looks of a parked Griso that I used to walk past every day. I went looking for an SE as I really like the green paint, brown seat and wire wheels. I use it now for weekend rides around the countryside and it is perfect around the country lanes that fill my part of France. The balance and stability along with the way it ignores dirty road suraces and covers ground at a constant speed just gives me big smiles.
Occasionally I load it up with soft luggage for a longer ride (sadly Baglux do not make a tank cover for it, nor will they-I asked!) and find the tiny fuel tank makes sure I take plenty of coffee breaks!
It is for me the perfect feel-good bike and the sound it makes turns more heads than anything else I've ridden.

Hey all, I'm really happy to be part of this group since you have the expertise and advice I need! I have had almost every brand of adventure bike out there and all have pro's and cons. However, I have a 2007 Griso with 10K miles (8K of that is from the last 18 months when I bought it from a friend.

Great to be here!
Larry
