I am getting ready to put new rubber on my Griso SE and want to replace the valve stems with 90 degree ones. I see 2 different sizes listed, an 11.3mm and an 8.3mm. Anyone know what size is needed for the SE wire spoke wheels?

Worst case I will just buy both sizes and match them up. Cheers.

I think the 8.3, but measure what you have with a caliper and you will know. Worst case buy both sizes and return what you don't use.

I'm planning on doing the same thing when I get new rubber myself. While I haven't taken a stem out to measure, I am fairly certain as well that these are the 8.3mm version. At least it's fairly apparent to me when you look at the second picture.

I haven't yet decided if I want to stick with the silver color or go red or black.

Depending on which stem you buy, they will need to have a bit ground off the outside edge in order to sit flush between the raised portion of the rim where the spoke pokes through. There is just enough interference to cause a small leak.

Just FYI, the factory versions are pretty affordable. Odd that most of the earlier LE's came with a pair of them, and the later LE/SE's came with one each (90º and straight).
