Had Moto Nexus pick up the Griso on Monday, Got the call today that the ECU is fried due to the ECU ground lead bad connection and riding in the rain good enough explanation for me. The ball is now in Guzzis court to see how soon an ECU can be obtained. Sure is nice to have more then one Bike and a Warranty !

Sure would like to have it back for the North GA campout.

Dan,

Glad the problem was identified. The ground lead was good and tight when I checked it. Was it corroded where we couldn't see it?

Too bad the guy with the other 8 valve escaped before you could grab his ECU

GuzziSteve alerted me to the fact that the crimp connection on the ground lead could be problematic, Maybe to much Dielectric grease

Dan, if the problem is resolved, and you are in a real pinch to ride it, let me know direct e-mail as I can probably be of help.

In that case, it may be wise to do a little pre-emptive maintenance on these and remove the hard plastic on the ring terminal at the ECU and solder the ring terminal to the wire that goes to the ECU. That would prevent any corrosion and loss of ground path.
