GTM V85TT Skid plate interest?

Definitely interested in a better skid plate for these. Another option is the heavy duty plastic ones like Hyde Racing makes for dirt bikes. Very tough, light weight and a lot quieter than metal (alum or steel). Also the slippery surface of the plastic helps when going over logs and rocks.

Trashed my skid plate on a big rock which also pushed the pipe guard hard enough to cause an exhaust leak. Full Arrow no-cat system arrives on Tuesday and I want better protection.

I reached out to E Line, will let the group know what I hear.

Does anyone have a working link for the Gamma Zinken?

Todd - any estimate on making a skid plate and pipe guards? Timeline? I'm good with any material but prefer a design that I corporates the gaurds into a one piece skid plate.

Thanks all!

Hi,

It is IMPOSSIBLE for Todd to see everything in the Forums. If you want to ask a question and get a response, send an email to him at

I’m in for a 4-5mm carbon fiber plate.

Years ago I did a skid plate for the ktm 950 and it was made of mild steel so that it would bend and absorb the impact without breaking mounting points.

After that we tested a carbon fiber prototype which worked fantastic and weighed next to nothing. Plus it looked gorgeous.

The ktm was much more off road capable then the v85 and rider were more inclined to test that ability. I do believe that there will be minimum of serious off roading on the v85 although some may single track it. Even then the carbon fiber plate worked very well.

Just my $.02

I would Definity by one if its full coverage.
Thanks for posting but two interested people in 2 years, and several posts with people telling people to others them purchase elsewhere, means it's a waste of time for me.

We're ramping up to work with carbon fiber, but we have a LONG list of parts to do before we could even consider this.
