Shot this the other day up at Mandello del Lario. Nice town, nice folks, tough to catch a train to Lecco, though...

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!!

Merry Xmas, Wallis. You get to visit the factory museum? Since you published a pic of the factory from the train station rather than one of the many glorious bikes in the museum, I'm guessing no. If so too bad, hope I'm wrong.

Merry X-mas W. Good place to spend the Holidays, nice. How's the temp? Did you make it into Agos? Lecco is pretty cool. Did you go out to Bellagio?

very cool thanks 4 posting and it was the very best xmass ever i just hit the supper jackpot at the casino

The museum is closed until February, but I still had to make the pilgrimage. Only had time to see Mandello and Lecco. The train system is really bizarre. Seems we didn't know the secret code to relate to the conductor that we needed to get off in Mandello, so we overshot it by a stop (the train was scheduled to stop in Mandello). But we got a taxi back down to Mandello, and it was very nice ride along Lake Como. Hung out in Mandello at the town caffe, then had to jump the tracks along with all the locals to catch the train back to Lecco. Nobody, including the train engineers and conductors, seemed to be on the same page. I know, it's Italian. We had a really nice day up in God's country nevertheless.

We'll be back in Milano Jan. 1-3, so maybe we'll go back up all the way to Bellagio. Having a great time at a 19th century "Kastely" in northern Hungary right now. Today we hiked up to a 16th Century signal tower built by the Ottoman Turks. Nice view of Slovakia...

Gee, don't know why you had such a problem. We took the train from Varenna to Mandello & back, said nothing to no one, train stopped to drop us in Mandello, then picked us up no questions asked for the return. Maybe the conductor saw my Guzzi T-shirt & lept to the natural conclusion, maybe things are just different during the summer tourist season when we were there.
