In September I worked as a cross-country support for the Motorcycle Cannonball. One of the more exciting motorcycle things I've ever done in my life.
Today, the organizers have agreed to conduct a 2011 event with several fundamental changes.
First, it will be a more northerly route from New York through Chicago to San Francisco.
Second, it will be one day shorter necessitating slightly higher average speeds and thus the motos will have to maintain 55mph. Smaller displacements will be at a disadvantage.
Third, they have advanced the moto age requirement to include through 1929.
That means that eight years worth of Guzzi production will qualify to participate.
Is anyone prepared? Are you brave enough?
The rider I served in 2010 will not be able to commit once again. So, competent support crew standing by to serve.
