handlebar vibrations

It may be just my imagination, but I have the impression that with the new handlebars, end weights etc., I have more vibrations in the hand grips, esp. at right. I'm not sure why the 'goodies' aren't distributed evenly, but it's enough to make me wonder about something I'd noticed in my stock set-up. The original right-hand end weight wasn't inserted all the way into the tube, but protuded over at least half a centimeter. That should reduce vibrations, or at least diminish their frequency, no?

If so, is this just a question of loosening the bolt, pulling out the stop over the desired distance, and re-fastening? (fastening by some exact amount or just as tight as it'll go with the spanner from the toolkit? :) )

You answered the question yourself;
yes it is.

There's really nothing you can disturb by fiddling with the bar end weights, so go find the 6 mm allen-key and try some different positions.
Are the throttles balanced, btw?

No idea about the throttles. I'll ask about it at the 30k service in a couple of weeks... thx

Not that it probably has any bearing on the Norge. But I definitely get more vibes from teh RHS bar compared to the left on the B.

It's usual for the right side grip to vibrate a bit more because you aren't gripping the actual bar the way you do on the left. The throttle sleeve has a slightly floating effect. For the same reason the right side grip tends to warm more efficiently than the left when using heated grips.

I'm actually pretty sure there's more right than left. Image in the left mirror tends to be clearer.

Strange though. The RHS cylinder *is* closer to the bars, but all vibrations get there through the steering column and one would say they should mix and distribute evenly. Unless the RHS bar is actually lighter because of the throttle grip??

I definitely get more numb hand on the right.

The right side bar weight has a groove machined in it to accommodate the throttle, but on mine it wasn't deep enough. So when the throttle is properly located on the handlebar, the weight didn't snug up properly because if I tightened it then it fouled the throttle.

A friend with a lathe fixed that.

Don't know if its because the engines revving a lot better, but since i pulled the snorkel off the airbox and did the catch can mod, I'm getting less vibes through the bars.
Which is nice :)
