It was good to see Don, Roger, Alice, Kev, Jack and all the other faithful so cal guzzi folks, I took a few pics, went for a ride, then came home. It was raining earlier, so that filtered out the wimps, but about ~15 of the So Cal Guzzisti showed up I reckon. I only made a quick pass before heading up the mountain for a ride, but saw a few interesting bikes.... The one that was pulling out before I got my camera out was one of the oddest, a twin engine Ariel Square Four in what looked like an early goldwing frame.... There were several hundred bikes there including virtually anything british, but many were trailer queens, didn't waste my pics on bikes that are not for ridin... The ride up the mountain through a bit of rain, following brit bikes that were sure to be leaking some oil made for an interesting ride. OK Don, James, you caged it in, Roger does not have a bike, so he gets a pass, and James has an old loop that dont take well to water, but Don.... whas up my friend, caging it the 4 miles from your house.... You could have trailered a guzzi to the corner, unloaded and kept your cred:*
Here's a few I took.

Kev S who rides a pristine Quota and So Cal Don (who wimped out due to the rain and caged it )

This sucker was amazing in the details, it has a Hillman 4 cylinder watercooled car engine in it, Norton Transmission, Royal Enfield tank and other brit bike bits, this sucker is not a show bike and gets ridden a lot according to the gent I spoke with

Another shot of the Hillman....

This was an odd diesel bike with various industrial bits on it, started right up and had them sweet honda comcast wheels. Very odd though

Another shot of the diesel bike, the close up pics I took did not come out, but it was very cleverly executed

My California RatSS running great, and quite stylish as well

The inspiration, a fine old honda rat chopper, appeared to be an old 305 dream engine

I ran out the door and left the camera.
Sorry folks.

It was raining when I left to meet Jon at the restaurant @ 8:00am.
No Jon. Go figure.

Yeah no good excuse for not riding.
Came back for a solo ride.
Great day.

I'm sorry Don, rather than cage it down to a restaurant at 8:00, I thought I would find my rain gear and ride a motorcycle to the "motorcycle" event:p However, I will not fault you, you have been tremendously helpful in the rehabilitation of my SS, and you did go to Bonneville, so challengeing your motocycle cred is not called for. However, your forgetting your camera is a bit uncalled for....
The SS ran great, but I was paranoid that the first rain of the year would be supplemented by leaked oil by dozens of leaky brit bikes, so my pace was "guarded" good ride though, and always good to see you guys....
Cheers,
