One of my Norge projector bulbs need replacing. The regular daytime/nighttime (not the high beam pair). When Shopping for a new osram 12v 55w h3 i noticed a 100 w option exists. Anyone use those? Beside being brighter are they better or worse in any ways?

probably will need a relay if not already fitted - remember, Guzzi wiring is minimally sized so to do anything more upgrades need to be done. A 100W daylight running globe is excessive with the result probably annoy oncoming vehicles - now for high beam, that is a different story - melt bitumen at 100 paces. Awesome!

Do NOT use a higher wattage bulb in the Norge headlight housing, for high or low beams. A number of Norge owners have reported melting or related damage in the housing even when using standard bulbs, and a hotter bulb would definitely be a greater hazard.

In addition, the wiring does not support a wattage above 55w, so you would need to wire a larger gauge harness.

The 100w H3 is for metal foglight housings for off-road use, and is not designed for applications like the Norge.

Finally, if the bulbs you are considering are the PIAA (or similar) bulbs that claim a 100w equivalent output while only using the stock 55w draw, read reviews on Amazon, eBay and other locations fully. While some like these bulbs, many have found that they are higher priced, but no higher true lumen output. Make your choice fully informed.

Bulbs such as the Osram Nightbreaker series will give more light while not drawing any more power. That would be my first option.

Do the LED replacement give a good beam definition? They always used to have problems with reflectors as they had no pinpoint light source.
