This has me scratching my head,

I developed a rattle at certain rpms last fall....looked everywhere for something loose. I finnally narrowed it down to the headlight...even though it was fast and secured. Today I opened it up....not knowing I had unscrewed the adjuster screw as well as the trim screw when dismantling it.

Inside I found a spring and a brass spacer...both about the same length. It could only be for the headlight adjuster.....but there is no physical way to put both on the screw at the same time (The spring does not fit over the spacer, fully compressed the spring does not fit inline with the spacer).

Has anyone opened their headlight up? I have checked the parts manual and nothing is shown. The best I can guess is that in Europe they use the spacer (non adjustable) and in the states they use the spring (adjustable)......mine just had the spacer floating around in there all this time, until it worked its way down to a place that rattled.

the brass thingy doesnt go on the adjuster. It goes on the bottom screw, which is what clamps the bezel to the bucket.

I too had the rattle. I put down some clear silicone on the lip on the bucket, let it dry, then put the bezel back on. Problem solved.

Thank You,

Used a little tape to hold the brass bushing in place during assembly......did as you said and problem is solved.
