Ive twice now had to disassemble my headlight switch to repair the low beam contact. Running the dual headlights from the 1000 on my 1100 I like actually being able to see. Any way Im thinking of wiring in a left hand switch from a 06 V-Strom. Which from looking at the V-Strom wiring diagram should give me 4 way flashers as well. Any one else dont this mod?

Why aren't you running your headlights through 30 amp relays to protect the switch? A simple four way flasher for the bike is a toggle switch that connects both sides. Flip the toggle switch then turn either side T/S on, then you have 4 way flashers if you want.

Well Ive never had to run relays for headlights before on other bikes. Truth be known Ive never liked the push button hi/lo on the Quota.
Will see how it goes.

I am pretty sure your lights do in fact run through a relay. I have the twin 1000 lights on my 1100 as well, and there is a headlight mini relay among the bank of relays next to the fuses. Looking at the wiring schematic it shows a relay as well. Not sure why you are having issues with the switch, but if the VS gear works for you, great.

Look again. The relay provides power to the switch. As wired all the current for the lights runs through the switch. Using additional relays, the stock headlight switch would only trigger relays, not carry all the current. A side benefit is the headlight would get full voltage and be brighter.

Suzuki GSXR/VStrom switch is in place. Clears clutch lever nicely. I like the rocker hi/lo beam better than the old push button, Works well.
