I surf CycleTrader almost daily. I never cared for the new R18 BMW. The concept bike was awesome, and the production model, sucked if you ask me.

So, some poor bastard paid $19,500 or MORE for this POS. With only 1510 miles, and saddlebags, the dealer is asking $11,995 which means they gave about 8-9k for it.

That is getting bent over royally! Thanks BMW. Wow.

Thank God Moto Guzzi’s don’t drop like that…

The guy who traded the R18 in didn’t get screwed - he got what the bike was worth. Unless things have changed, BMW dealers can’t give R18s away.

Unless the original owner was an “early adopter” who paid MSRP (or nearly that outrageous amount)—if so, then he was screwed.

Figures.

When I first saw that god awful thing, I said to myself that here we go again with the rewarmed R1200C fiasco. Destined to fail miserably.

Kind of sad to see I was right.

I for one liked the R-18 especially the second edition but then again I really liked the looks of the R-1200C , HOWEVER to me they were waaay overpriced by BMW and I think most people ( as mentioned ) didn't care for them. I've noticed also the used bike market has been flooded with cheap bikes these past couple of months including some nice low mile 1400's
