Hello;

Well, i performed the evap-can-ectomy on the Griso tonight.. Much harder than the Norge, just because of the tight space to work in.

So after all was said and done, I noticed that there is a vent hose from the top of the transmission case that seems to go no where.. The manual is not so specific as well. It looks like it may connect to the air box, but there is NO room under the air box. and there doesn't seem to be a nipple anywhere...

Any one know were that hose is supposed to vent to go ? Right now I have it kind of looped up and then pointed down behind the tranny.

Thanks

OOPS Wrong TECH forum.... Todd... Can you move it for me..

Note: in the previous web version the Griso Breva section was BEFORE the Norge section... HMMMMM>>>> )

Sam,

Guzzi transmissions have always vented to atmosphere. Just stick the end of the tube where it won't get water in it. It is only there to vent pressure from the transmission heating up under use.

Hi

That's what I thought, just wanted to cofirm my understanding and also that Guzzi didn't change thier approach..

I discovered this hose the other day on my Griso... I does go to nowhere but you are right that things are very tight in a Griso with almost no room to maneuver....

Sam,
When I removed mine, it had the diaphram sucker in it and was connected to one of the fuel tank vents, it was a 700 mile bike, so Luigi clearly connnected it that way.... The trans vent connected to the gas tank vent, thats some interesting engineering

Jon !! You know Mine seem to be pointing up towards the tank vent. I couldn't belive that it might have been connected. Both the Griso and Norge manuals show the european tanks all vent down. (The US tanks all vent into the Evap can.) The two vents tied together to a single down tube. I am floored that your's was connected. That probably means mine was as well. The scary part is that I also connected it there... When I first got the bike, and I swapped the body parts (another long post) I must have connected it not understanding what it was... It was a scorching hot day, and I just was swapping part for part...

Well, it is now configured per the European diagrams.... Just have to reset the TPS and take it for a spin...
