How to split the CARC

I'm splitting the CARC casings to have them cleaned up. I have removed all the bolts and the spline rubber seal and the torsion arm rubber seal. There is something holding it together and I think it is the bearings. The workshop manual doesn't say anything about this. Is it a matter of applying some heat to release the bearings.

I don't know why I'm asking as I think I know what to do. Just wondering if anyone has any experience doing this job.

I have one side off, the one with the big bearing. Now to get the smaller bearing out with the bevel gear. No obvious way to do it.

Edit: just found the information. "Once the seal is broken turn the CARC over and heat the centre with a heat gun. Give it a couple of minutes and you will simply be able to lift the RHS case off the CARC mechanism"

Do you have the special tool needed to replace the input shaft seal now that the case has been split?

Are you talking about the gearbox with input shaft seal? I'm not going to touch the gearbox. If the CARC, I cant see where any special tool is needed except as a stand. Sorry if i'm wrong.

I wasn't going to go that far into the carc. Just interested in the large outer and smaller out and seal. Should I go further? The bevel gear and bearings feels stiff cold but I have not heard there being a problem.

I suppose if it isn't leaking then leave it alone.
