Just got it firing!
The engine number, as stamped at the back of each crankcase half, is 61745. The engine has iron head and barrel and exposed hairpin valve springs.
I bought the engine along with a rolling chassis that turned out to be a pre-ww2 PE 250. As the engine is too large to fit the PE frame, and has an inlet port diameter 1-3/8" I assume it to be a 500. Possibly a GTV? or a (super) Alce?
It is more or less complete except for the gear change pedal, the kickstart assembly, the inlet manifold and carburettor.
I would appreciate help:- to identify the engine and to find where I might obtain the missing parts.
