Mice love the old girl. Again, I have been moused. They love the Bassa's intake snorkel I guess. They probably use one side as an entrance and exit from the other, but they always seem to find a nice comfortable air filter to call home. I know I can eliminate the snorkel, but that would deprive the mice of their improvised Habitrail. I can also put screens in at the front. I think a nice 1/4 inch mesh would work without disrupting air flow too much.

My question is, has anybody ever put individual air filters on one of these bikes with fuel injection? I am thinking if I eliminate the attractive condominium, I will lessen my chances of mice moving in.

Thoughts.

Keep the snorkel. Affix window screen over the ends of the snorkel. The metal kind of screen. Mice will chew through the other type. These bikes run better with the stock air box. The FI system does better with large amount of still air for the intake.

Thanks for the information. I am still deciding what I want to do with this bike as it is now a back up. I was thinking about various mods or maybe a sidecar. After I figure out its next mission, then I will probably do the air box modification and fueling. Primary ride is going to get hooked up first though. Tight now, I'm mostly interested in hanging out the no vacancy sign.

I will be adding screen, I have some nice stiff 1/16 inch mesh in the garage that needs something constructive to do with its time.
