Ciao a tutti from Italy!

I am Andrea, from Italy, deployed in Afghanistan at the moment. But counting-down days for coming back home and ride my GRISO 1100....
Is anyone planning a trip to Italy (by motorbike, possibly)? I live in UDINE, north east of Italy, not far from Austria and Slovenia.

Let me know!

I will very likely be riding through or near Udine sometime around the early days of June. But, the way I ride there's really no telling anything more accurate than that--even up to the day I'm there (every day is a freeform ride with no known destination). My general plan is to run north from Mandello towards (but not through) Prague, then east through Slovakia and south through Hungary, and then looping south through Croatia, Slovenia and your area before returning to Mandello.

Ciao Andrea,

I'm heading your way next year with two freinds. We've hired a villa just outside Nice for a fortnight and us chaps are heading off early to play in the Alps for a few days on the way home. Got to take the Stelvio to Stelvio right ?

Take care, Bry.

- which is a great journey I've made several times. Most boring part of it is Hungary south of Budapest, flat as a pancake, but if you're lucky the corn on the ubiquitous cornfields hasn't grown high in June, so you'll have a view, at least...
Esztergom in the north, right at the border to Slovakia, will be a fine place to hit, though.

I'll probably be in the northern part of Italy sometimes this summer, but as I've got no plans I can't say where and when. First part of September most probably.

That's ok with me; I've come to appreciate these boring places where time isn't quite the same as it is everywhere else.

Sorry, forgot about Kansas..
Just bare in mind that out of the the motorway, gas stations are as rare as finding the Moulin Rouge ballet dancing naked on Tiananmen Square in that area.

Thanks for the heads-up. I've not checked with Nicola on the flavor of Stelvio he has lined up for me, but if it's the one with the little tank, I'll just need to be more watchful.
