Hello, I'm a new member from San Diego and joined this group to become more involved with Guzzi ownership. My current Moto Guzzi is an early 76' 850 Le Mans (close to start of production) of which I'm proud to own and very much enjoy riding. I also own a 72' BMW R75/5 and am fairly involved with the Airheads Beemer Club.
Todd directed me to this site after I enquired about the first Sunday of the month Rock Store ride/meet and am looking forward doing my first (mostly) all Guzzi ride sometime in the near future.
Below is a photo of my Le Mans and as you can see it's not painted one of the usual color schemes. Some may already know this bike when it sat forlornly at Sonny Angel Motorcycles from the early eighties until I bought it from Sonny 3 years ago. 850 Le Mans prices had finally caught up to what Sonny had been asking for quite a while so it became my time to assume stewardship of this motorcycle. It was red/black when I bought it but one day after a few beers, I painted it the way it appears today. Actually, the paint was in very poor shape even rusting in a few places and it will remain this way for a while....besides, since there are a few other red/black 850 Le Mans' and CX's in San Diego, I never have to worry about confusing my bike with other Le Mans'. Eventually I'll reward this Guzzi with a proper full restoration and for now I enjoy it for what it is which is one of the coolest bikes coming out of the seventies.
Cheers Al
