Just got it firing!
Hey All,
I ride a 2010 V7C. The other day, while riding at about 50 MPH I leaned in for a left curve and heard a scrape and thought to myself I'm not leaning nearly far enough to scrape a peg, looked down and realized the kickstand was drooping a bit, kicked it back up and stopped at the next gas station to check on the spring and bolts holding it in place, didn't find anything loose and continued the day's ride, checking on the side stand every so often. Then on the way home on the highway while going about 75, the bike dies on me. I pulled off, to the right hand emergency lane in a hurry and realize the side stand fell far enough to engage the kill switch. I got off the freeway and made it home via side streets. Had a closer look at the side stand mounting hardware and everything was nice and tight. Then I realized the exhaust is making contact with the bolt holding the side stand in it's bracket on the frame. It seems like the problem may be the vibration of the exhaust causing the side stand to vibrate itself down.
I did just install a set of Mistrals on the bike which vibrate a lot more than the stock pipes did and didn't notice the issue until after the new pipes were installed.
Anyone had this happen before and come up with a good solution? I'm looking forward to getting back on the freeway without having to check on the side stand every mile
Cheers!
