A painfully constructed acronym... but an effing amazing ride!

Started out mid-morning for a run up Little Tujunga (LT) which only re-opened earlier this year after being closed by flood damage. LT is technical. Super twisty. Lot's of decreasing radius turns. Super challenging, but a barrel of fun! There's a nice stopping point at the top of LT where motorcyclists, bikers and sports car drivers congregate, hang out and shoot the breeze. So no pics as I kept riding!

The back side of LT drops down to Sand Canyon which leads to the outskirts of Santa Clarita before connecting to Soledad Canyon ~ a bucolic and gently winding road that leads out to Acton. Soledad Canyon meanders along the Santa Clarita river and the Southern Pacific Soledad Canyon rail line before reaching Acton which is only a stone's throw away from Aliso Canyon Rd which climbs quickly into the San Gabriel mountains.

Aliso Canyon Rd terminates at a T-intersection with Angeles Forest Hwy. Climbing up into Angeles National Forest the temperatures dropped about 10° to a very pleasant 85°F with a cool (speed-induced) breeze to make things really comfortable, and Angeles Forest Hwy is filled with ever more sweeping twisties as one climbs in altitude until it meets up with the world famous Angeles Crest Hwy at Clear Creek Ranger Station [Pics].

From there, Angeles Crest Hwy all the way to the other side. 67 miles of non-stop carving - most of it up hill. As one starts to descend one comes to Big Pines [Pics] about 5 miles outside of Wrightwood. I turned around there and rode ACH back in the other direction for another 67 miles of twisties to the base of the '2' in La Cañada.

Wonderful, wonderful ride!
