Le Mans IV 1985 turn signals out. Quick question

My blinkers went out over the week end. It could the bulbs, the connection wires, the connectors, the left switch or the relay. Pushing the hazard button does not result in anything.

In Guzziology they have an entire paragraph on how bad the switches are for the LM IV.

My first step would be to disconnect the left handlebar switch and check the switch with the Ohm Meter. I will look at the wire connections and bulbs as well.

My second step would be to check the relay by replacing it with a cheap 3 wire auto relay as I bid with my R90/6.

Question: is there a special tool or technique to disconnect the left switch connector? there seems to be 2 prongs that need to to be pushed and are hard to access.

Thank you

Thanks to all. I fixed this by doing exactly nothing. As I was starting the investigation Ohm-meter and schematics in hand, I tried the blinkers and magically they worked again. I noticed that the left hand command felt differently and "clicked" in position better. No doubt this issue will surface again, but glad to know the components are working.

How about removing the bulbs and checking them FIRST. More than likely, your bulb is vibrating off and on. Start with the simple stuff first. It's usually the correct answer.

Thanks and agreed completely with going for the simplest explanation. The turn signals were working intermittently. So I tried to look for a grounding issue. The left back signal was not grounded properly so I added a wire connected to the chassis to ensure proper grounding. Seems to work so far...
