I removed the alternator and found that there was only one wire going to a brush. How can this be? There is a gang of 3 that are combined and go with their males on the stator, and then two lone wires. But there are 3 lone males on the stator. Two of which are for the brushes. There was a brush terminal without a female spade for it on the harness though... What's going on? Can any of you shed some light on this? They all enter the front of the alternator through a grommet in the plastic cover. The battery always charged last year this way. Hmmmm.....
