Longer Shift Toe Peg???

Wondering if anyone has replaced their stock toe peg on the shift lever? My toe/foot doesn't easily slide/fit under. My foot (13 EEEE shoe) is aligned about 4-5 cm left of the peg when resting naturally and I'd like it to be easier on my foot/ankles to get my toe under when upshifting. I can make it work, but it's not a natural position.

Would also be nicer to get longer (an extra 5-7 cm would be nice) foot pegs than stock if anyone has info on that as well.

No, I don't lean far enough to worry about the added length :)

Thanks!

This is not entirely responsive, at least WRT a Griso.

Comma but.

I, too, have ... erm ... "undainty" feet. :giggle:

I also wear -- as a result of seeing my brother suffer a spiral fracture to a tibia -- moved to wearing Sidi Adventure boots, i.e., my merely large feet are now booted monsters. In fact, I cannot ride with those on the Norge when two-up without having excitement of the terrifying kind at stops.

But, so far, with some adjustments and other changes to stock shifters, even my moto-clodhoppers work OK when solo.

Actually, the Griso has not been an issue at all, even with those big Sidis, but the Norge and Stornello did require tweaks.

As a first point, I have never found it necessary to put my boot's full toe cap under the shifter when going up through the gears. I simply "caress" it with the right side of the toe cap and it's (almost) snick, snick, snick. ;)

Down shifts have never been an issue, except to the extent my aging body objects to the such foot and ankle stretching.

With the Stornello, I ordered and installed -- for my brother's V7 III and my Stornello -- these from Todd's store:

Those pegs may possibly not be the answer if you have to have the effect of full toe under shifter, but they sure work for us.

Thanks Bill. I thought you were going to mention that Guzzi delivers the Stornello with a longer brake “toe peg” as shown below, for $31, at any dealer (part # 2S000323) — However it is not plug and play for a Griso... but might be able to be modified to work. Or have a lathe machinist make you one. I can do so at my shop for a handful more $, but happy to do so. Email me direct; Todd at GuzziTech.com

I should have, Todd, but I am in Seattle and the Little Vectors -- Kathi thinks they are grandkids -- and their slobbery-but-loveable Lab distracted me. ;)

Actually, as I am free now for the moment, I still kinda think that the longer peg on a Griso would not help with the challenge of getting big feet under it. As I said, I just "encourage" the shift with my foot, and don't try to get whole toe cap under there.

OTOH, if that is essential to the OP, your option might get the job done.

I don't need to get the whole end of my boot under there, but if it were a bit more to the west, it would make my ankles much happier. Right now, I have to angle the left ankle/foot into/under the toe peg and after many years of football, having a little less angle would please the arthritis devil. :)

It could also be achieved by having a shift lever that had a greater curve and put the whole thing a bit farther to the west.
