Does anyone offer the main bearings for a V7 Sport W/O the carrier plates? Seems like a waste to replace the flange/plates on the mains.

Alex

Jeez Alex  Your lucky Roper hasn't seen this yet.

Think about this a moment .....all the machining to them after pressing them into the Flange /carrier, or do you have a reeme that size ?(Like doing little ends but bigger)

Not really a goer is it ;)

hmmm why not? I believe many old engines use sleeve bearings and they press them in. Even worse on Offy's ya gotta heat the case up first before even putting in the crank with the mains attached... or so I understand.

I don't see an issue with pressing in babbit bearings. I mean, someone, somewhere, put those bearings into the flanges. I don't think they were poured into them (anyone from the manufacturer know?), More time consuming would be for me to pour them.... but I don't have the were-with-all to do that.

Guess I'll buy the 1 overs with the flanges.

I wonder why the world doesn't work just like I think it should. It would make a whole lot more sense....

Picked up 1st oversize mains and rod bearings from MG.

They look great.

The end.

Alex

Make sure the rod bearings are marked CL112. If not junk them. Amadeo from Raceco told me this.......and I think he knows a thing or two about Guzzis.
