Looking to buy my first Moto Guzzi but I live in Spokane,WA and my closest dealer is hours away, so does anybody know of a shop in Spokane that does service on Moto Guzzi's?

I live in Hayden, Idaho and bought a Moto Guzzi in Reno back in January. I do my own service and have found it crazy easy to do on this bike. As for dealer support, I have met with Rick, the owner of Moto Guzzi Portland. He is a great guy and was very helpful when I was there in June on a ride through Oregon. He gave my bike a once over and gave me some tips on was to keep an eye on. The parts guy James has been awesome to deal with also.

As for local service, Empire Cycle used to handle the Guzzi line. Kristin, the owner there, has offered to work on mine if needed. I've not had the need as yet, and I hope I never do! Best of luck to you! What are you looking at getting?

Hi Dons 1911, I'm interested in getting a 2018 V7, probably the Carbon Dark model. My issue is I'm 66 years old and have owned motorcycles since I was 16, when I bought my first motorcycle, a Honda 305cc street scrambler. Sold my last bike, a Harley Road King, 3 years ago and have the urge for another bike. I've had many bikes, from '60s Triumphs, Japanese, and Harleys but never owned a Moto Guzzi. I want something simple, air cooled, and mid size. I've been looking at the new Royal Enfield Interceptors and the V7's but no dealers close by. I'm originally from San Diego and they have a great dealer there, I've also been in contact with Portland Moto Guzzi but even after shipping charges it would be quite a bit cheaper for me to buy from San Diego. May I ask what model you bought and are you happy with it? What is your opinion of the bike I'm looking to buy? This will probably be the last bike I buy so I want to be happy with it.

Welcome to the world of "thinking about getting a Guzzi." ;)

Given your long experience with many brands, suspect you have done some wrenching yourself.

Guzzis are very -- as in very -- friendly to self-service wrenching.

I have had six new Guzzis (as has my brother! :)), and, my two newest -- both V7's -- have had zero issues.

    Best wishes,

    Bill

P.S. I am 72, and not sure if my V7 III is my last motorcycle. Just back last Friday from an 800+ r/t on Griso; headed off tomorrow on a 1500-miler on V7 III.

The V7 is a sweet bike! Really like the Carbon Dark trim too! I bought mine from EuroCycles Reno. They have three locations, Reno, Vegas and Sonoma, Ca. While I won't vouch for them as a dealer, there price was unbeatable. I went to Reno with an enclosed U-Haul trailer and brought mine back. The trailer rental was $60 for three days. Slept in my truck one night so I only had fuel as en expense. The prep they did on the bike would have caused problems if not corrected, but I took care of everything and the bike has been fine. I bought a leftover new stock 2017 Stelvio NTX in January this year as I am into the ADV riding arena. I just got back from a 7 day, 3200 mile, 6 state trip with lots of camping! Man I love Wyoming! A great time! Lots of off roading in southern Utah too! Rolled past 12k miles on my way home. Really enjoying this bike. Lot's different from my R12GS that I had before this one, but every bit as capable! Since your local perhaps we should grab a coffee sometime?

I am going to check out Eurocycles in Reno, if the price is right that could be a good option. I definitely have the itch for a new bike, when I sold my last one a few years ago I was kind of bored of riding in the San Diego area where I was living, I didn't really want to ride south because of the border, west you were limited by the ocean and north was Los Angeles, no fun riding there for me, so left east but been there done that many times, on the other hand you can ride year round no problem but the Spokane area looks much more interesting for riding, many options. As for adventure riding I've been watching a YouTube channel called "Itchy Boots" , she's a single lady riding a Royal Enfield Himalayan all over eastern Europe and Asia by herself, really interesting! Coffee sounds good!

careful with quotes. make sure it's out the door - tax. euro will bury you with phoney fees. I got one shipped in from portland to my tucson home in 2016 was was very pleased. I doubt you will beat his price.

My 2014 California 1400 was my first Moto Guzzi. Like you, I had a lot of experience with other brands. In my case I had owned only Japanese brands (Yamaha, Kawasaki, Honda) which were all very reliable and well built with many dealers throughout the country. Buying the California was a reach out into the unknown for me. Since I made the leap I experienced my local dealer (30 miles from home) going out of business the month after I got my new Moto Guzzi. Since then I have seen four other dealers within a range of 150 miles go out of business. Kinda sucks...

The good news though is that this bike is SIMPLE, mechanically. I have had no problems adjusting valves, changing oils, brake pads and tires as needed which are the only regular maintenance items required.

I have since created a tag line for Moto Guzzi but they have not been using it in their advertising (yet). It is "MOTO GUZZI; You're never more than 500 miles from your nearest dealer!"

It would be nice to have a local dealer instead of hundreds of miles away for sure, in San Diego where I lived most of my life they have a good dealer that I'm going to visit when I'm down there in a couple of weeks, he has a new 2017 V7 III for $5500 and he's not bad on the add on fees so even with shipping it from socal to Washington state it still comes out quite a bit cheaper than anyone else I've talked to so far. I actually like the 2019 V7 specials but too much $$$, also I like the 2018 Carbon Dark model but for the price I could get this 2017 for I may get it if it's still available when I visit. Does anybody know if the 2018 models had any changes from the 2017 models?

So @Alpine11 , did you get one? I'm waiting on the dealer in Portland to replace a head and rings on one cylinder, apparently I was lucky and go one with a bad valve!

Still haven't got one. I was in San Diego and had a great price worked out with the local dealer but by the time I flew home to WA a few days later and called him he had sold the last one he had. I'm now trying to decide on the V7 Special (I like the 2019 black ones), or still go for a Carbon Dark. Do you think the prices will drop on the 2019's when 2020 gets here?

While I am not the guy to ask, I do believe they will reduce them. I feel a lot depends on the individual dealership with regards to how much of the incentive are they willing to pass on to the customer. Hopefully somebody with more knowledge in this arena will comment!

Checked with OP Motorsports but they are way high on their prices and the salesman said they will not negotiate.

Well I'll politely point out that Portland has theirs listed at a whopping $9 less https://www.motoguzziportland.com/N...-Aprilia-Moto-Guzzi-Portland-6009565?ref=list

As an update, one of the salesman at OPM is no longer there and I'd recommend calling back and speaking with Alan the owner. You may find him more accommodating and he may be open to an end of year deal.

I'll pop up on a soap box right quick here. I'll point out, brick and mortars have to make profits, bikes cost them money too, and people keep nickle and diming their way through things thinking there won't be consequences but 5 dealerships just closed in the Seattle area this fall because of the poor market and everyones demand at bottom dollar pricing. Dealerships nation wide are dying, yet everyone demands bikes for a song. I understand it may not be worth what you think it's worth, and that's fine I am the same way with some things. But there's only so many times a dealership can take a loss on a sale before it ain't gonna be a dealership anymore.

I understand what you're saying and I agree with you, if I had a local dealer I would not have a problem paying more to help support them, but my closest dealer is hundreds of miles away, so unless I need warranty work done I will not be using them other than my initial purchase. I'm originally from San Diego and they have a great dealer whose been in business a long time, GP Motorcycles, he was selling his new 2018 Carbon Dark for $6995, when I told him I would need to ship it to Spokane he said he wouldn't charge me the usual set up and freight charge to compensate for what I would pay for shipping it, that was without asking him, a really great deal but unfortunately by the time I got back home to Spokane it was sold, anyway, long story but I can't justify paying $3000 more for the same motorcycle from a dealer who isn't local to me anyway.

Because...reasons. I went through the inventory of every Moto Guzzi dealer in the United States. Here are the 18 2018 V7 III Carbon Darks available by price and location with links to the dealers. The average mathematical price being $7957, lowest of $6690 and highest of $9999. I did not include 3 dealers that stated they had them but with call in only quotes for pricing but they were all on the eastern seaboard. A handful are car dealerships, a handful have no actual website but facebook pages, and four no longer actually sold Moto Guzzis.

As a side note, if you find one that suits your fancy and need transport, I recommend calling Tim Weig, owner of MotoShippers. http://www.motoshippers.com/ (505) 917 - 3349 INFO@MOTOSHIPPERS.COM

Lastly, I do recommend calling Alan at OPM (425) 765 - 3691 outside Seattle again to see if he'd work a deal more suitable to what you want.

Thanks for all the research! I will definitely call OPM, if he can get close to what I can pay I'd rather deal with my "local" dealer, also I'm gonna call Elk Grove, they are about a 14 hour drive.
