Hi all, has anyone had their seat lowered as I am short in the leg department and need to get closer to the ground. Moto Guzzi don`t do any low seat options as yet and I am used to having a lower seat on the gs etc and have got my local seat coverer to reduce and recover the seat. The lower seat for the gs really worked for me so I am hoping this can work on the stelvio. It seems a shame to lose the original seat cover but what they will recover it in should look the bees knees. I am just a tad concerned I might end up with a ball breaker but if I continue with the stock seat I am going to be caught out. I will have to wait 4 weeks before they can do it and then I will drop the seat in. For this to be reduced, recovered and gel pad £195. I don`t think its too bad actually if it works I think its good. CHIPPER

Agreed.

I had the opposite problem, and got the seat vertically extended, if I may say so.
Whatever; the issue is that it's worth every penny to be seated comfortably and being able to maneuver the bike in a safe way.

And shame on every manufacturer who doesn't deliver a bike with adjustable seat, steering bar and footpegs.
And that includes MG! ;)

Hi gang

Trust me if the Stelvio is a little tall don't panic go try the 1200sport 4v you will not be disapointed:(

I am 6'5', the Stelvio is perfect, I had a 1200 sport on loan, It's too small for me but one hell of a bike:) ;)

Go try one , Now;)

That sounds a bit steep Chipper, I was quoted £90 per seat, (front, back).
A local firm again to you in the Brum area. Racking my brains for their name again, P&M, P&A seats. Something like that. It's in the old posts.
I only wanted it for the gel pad, but when I got round to it the numb bum had gone.

Gary thats the place I was in today and thats the price for front and back with a gel insert for the front only. I don`t think its too bad as I bought a bagsters seat for my versys 2 years ago and that was £230 with a kawasaki discount of 15%. Funnily enough I went to school beside the seat place and walked past it for 5 years.Chipper

Had my Stelvio lowered when I bought it from Motosport, Wareham, Dorset. They have a specialist co. who re-arrange the rear shock and presumably then drop the front a bit. Got about 1.5 inches out of it for around £120, I think. Vital for me as with 29 inch inside leg, it was just too big even for one foot down. Lots of guff spoken about how you ruin the set-up and balance. Its all bollox unless you really use it for boy racer stuff. Still rides like a dream for me.
Cheers
Martin

I am in the USA and my seat is way to firm, been think of getting a Russell Day Long (www.day-long.com) made this coming winter. Had one made for my Concours with heat and backrest and it is sweet, pricey but sweet.
