Mag wheels for an EV

Are there after market wheelsl that fit an EV? The Chrome is flaking off mine. I hate cleaning between the spokes, anyway. Rechoming is so expensive, so I'm thinking White mag wheels. Possible?

Aaron, what year EV? You can put '96-01 V11S wheels on with some finagling... but you'll be going to 17" front and rear. This comes up time to time, and there is nothing out there because of cost to produce vs. supply & demand aspect. What would you pay for a set of similar size tubeless "mag" wheels for your EV?

It's a 2002. The price it the issue. I haven't received actual quotes, but it seem like It would cost about $2000 to re-chome them or powder coat them. I hate cleaning them, so I thought maybe an after market mag, but guess not. My wife it on me about the money I'm sinking into the bike, and now I'm starting to agree with her. I have already added a power commander, open air box (FBF didn't work end up cutting a lot of wholes in the oem air box), H-pipe, and rear shocks. I am going to add front fork spring, some custom bracket of an Old Wixom top case, and Lafranconi pipes. If I have to spend another $2000-$5000 on wheels I may as well Sell the bike and get something New.

If anyone has any good Ideas of reasonable fixes let me know.

just ride it and don't look at the wheels?
swap them for aluminum rims from an older EV?
I like the idea of V11S rims, a front rim of 17" won't be all bad.
trade in on a Honda?
better quit spending on it until you check out the resale options.

Do all EV wheels fit each other? I know some are tube and made of different metals. At least, I think i know that.

No, I would not go back to a Honda. I love the Norge, and there are a few BMWs I like. I hate to admit it, but it would be very hard for me not go with a F800GS. The Stelvio is not interesting to me, though it may look better in person. I have yet to see it.

The resale value is not great, but all the add-ons are not increasing it either. Of course with the current state of the economy I wouldn't sell anything now.

I can't imagine that powdercoating would be all that much, if you went that route. I've had a lot of parts done for different things, mostly for well under a couple hundred dollars. No wheels, mind you, but still I doubt it would be anywhere near 2 g's. I was thinking of doing this w/ the wheels on my Aluminum. I'll let you know if I get a quote somewhere.

The most expensive part would seem to be having them re lased after having the rims powder coated. Why couldn't they be sent to a custom wheel maker and just have his hubs re lased with new rims and spokes? Then you could get any size/color rims that they offer that would still fit the bike, and could add some custom twisted spokes as well if you wanted.
Hummmmmm....... I should have thought of that when I changed mine.
