Has anyone used one of these Marc Parnes balancing tools to balance their wheels on a norge? If so what do you think about it?
Appreciate any comments on balancing wheels. Thanks

The system looks a little on the cheap side. You get what you pay for.

Geez, that's a cheap shot John... :(

The Marc Parnes rig is very well made, excellent bearings and very easy to acheive an accurate blaance. It is also packable as all you need is the assembly and you can use two blocks or upside down 5 gallon buckets or two chairs to hold the assembly for balancing...

kenrad,
The standard cones fit well on both Norge wheels... Take your time and figure out what the wheel is telling you when it settles down into the "Heavy" spot, mark it and tape the weights on putting them on both sides of the wheel. Have another spin (pun intended) and when you are sure that you have it, stick the weights on.

Best,
Rob

Hi Noel,
I received my Marc Parnes wheel balancer today. Was glad to read your confirmation that it will work well on both wheels on my Norge.
I retired your trusty dip stick removal tool last week as I installed a Stucchi Dip Stick system that I am very pleased with.
All the best,
Kenrad

Hi Radguzzi,
Thanks for the info on the Marc Parnes balancer. Much appreciated as I received it in the mail today. It is good to know that it will work okay.
All the best,
Kenrad

I had a run on those tools for the 1st couple of years of manufacture, then they added the hole in the fairing. Haven't sold one for quite some time. Stiil have mine under the seat, but don't need to use very often as the oil level stays right on the mark. The Parnes balance tool is a good unit. Take care and enjoy the upcoming spring, if it ever gets here.
