I recently put a post up that I was having problems shifting in cold weather and was recommended using 75W 90 gear oil. It turns out my mechanic put transmission oil in my gearbox. He was confused by Guzzi listing transmission oil and not drive shaft....
I’m an American in Israel and I should have known better. I was running around with this in my gearbox for a week does anybody know if this could cause permanent damage?
I have now replaced it with the correct gear oil and it’s now like shifting through butter...what a difference
 
The transmission (rear drive) 85W 140 won't harm the gearbox. Just a bit thick for easy shifting in cold weather. If he used ATF I don't know, but if only for a short time you should be OK.
