MG Factory Map

Has anyone installed an upgraded factory map on a 21013 V7? Is it an improvement?

Thanks

I had an updated factory map installed on my 2015 V7 after an electrical issue wiped out my ecu and Todd's guzzi tech map.

Updated factory map is better than the original factory map that came with the bike but NOT AS GOOD as the guzzitech one.

I'll probably have the guzzitech re flash done over the winter when the bike is in storage.

Talk to Jim at Hamlin Cycles, he took care of me when the bike died in VT.

I'm wondering whether the map out of a V7-III would be an improvement. It doesn't appear to reflect the cold running issues of the earlier maps.

I appreciate a Guzzitech map would be more beneficial, I have four bikes with Todd's map installed. A no brainer.

I wouldn't. The hemi-head Mk III map is VERY different than the Mk I & II... aside from the fact that I don't think it would cross load. Certainly won't at a dealer.

Spend the money and get the Guzzitech map. You will be glad you did. I have it along with his 2 into 1 exhaust very satisfied.

I can second what Wisconsin v7 Racer says. Get the Flash tool, and work with Todd on your bike's fueling. I ended up going with the Agostini slip ons and the improved performance from Todd's maps has been fantastic. Highly recommended and a worth while investment.

I just ordered it for mine, instructions aren't real clear for me, but perhaps when it gets here it will be as simple as everyone suggests.

Once you get the Flash Tool, it's very simple to follow the instructions. The ECU port is located under the seat and attached to the back of the airbox lid cover. It has a rubber dust cover that you will need to remove so you can plug in the connector to the Flash Tool. Just make sure you follow all the directions and don't forget to run the Throttle Position and Auto Adaptive commands under the Diagnosis > My Bike tab. This is mandatory for it to work correctly. It sounds a lot more complicated than it is. The tool will prompt you on what to do.
