I am lucky enough to own an MGS-01 and need to find a timing belt tensioning tool part no 30948600; if there's an alternative technique for adjusting the belts then perhaps someone can assist with that process instead. The MGS-01 manual does not cover this subject very well.

Anyone else out there with an MGS-01 who wants to swap notes I'd appreciate the opportunity.
    All the best,
    Mark

I have the timing belt adjustment tool for a Daytona. I would imagine it is much the same. If it is, the tool is about useless and you are better off setting the belt tension another way.

Must say I too am intrigued with what you use an MGS01 in Singapore for? Trackdays? Extended rides to quiet Malaysian backroads?

I was recently in Bali and saw a guy riding around on a 1098/1198 Ducati in Sanur. I can't imagine how you would use a quarter of the perfornance of that bike on Bali roads, even where there is no traffic, the number of animals and locals wandering on the roads would make riding quickly a dangerous exercise. Riding an uncomfortable, highly strung bike around at low speeds in a hot environment, does not sound like much fun to me.....

It's the only tool I once bought from guzzi and completely useless. I tried to use it once.
Because the point it turns around something with friction. I feel how much I can twist the belt in the middle.

Gents thanks for the feedback on the MGS tool, looks like "manual" tensioning is the way to go, typically Guzzi then!

Unfortunately the MGS can't go on the road in Singapore - something as sensible as a daytime MOT (like the UK) is just not possible in this "by the book" city state. So I truck it up to Sepang for track days - take a look at www.sbrtrackdays.com if interested.

    Thanks again
