Looking around at the usual sites selling bikes (biketrader, exchange&mart, ebaymotors, MCN), I didn't see any 8v's with more than 12,000 miles on the clock. I didn't think I used mine that much and I've done 15,000.

I am wondering if this is because the high mileage one's are not being sold, but being kept long term.

Have any of you out there done more than my 15,000 miles?

Regards,
David

I did 25k plus miles on my G 1100 before it was written off. Checking the trade price guide to see what it was maybe worth the dealer laughed and threw the book away......according to it no one does more than 12k miles in under 3 years on a Griso! Fortunately the other drivers insurance company realized how deep in the mire they were and replaced it with a G8v and I've now done a similar mileage in the same time on that. I know Guzzis get better with use and have no intention of selling it just yet. I think a lot of serial Guzzi owners do hang on to their bikes & rack up higher mileages and when they do sell the most common reason is to get another one! Plenty of Guzzisti who take full advantage of the ignorance of one-time Guzzi buyers and buy their low mileage ones knowing they are only just run in & are about improve with use.
