That's going straight into my diary - only a few miles from our static van at Staxton and when we go I often take the bike

See you there👍

Tris, thanks for your response.

There has been a good level of interest expressed in this idea, including from riders who live further afield who intend to take advantage of Seaways glamping/camping facilities.

Nice cafe Seaways, been there many a time. If you’ve not been go early, it’s a very nice ride out just try to avoid the inevitable holiday traffic at peak times on the main roads (i.e. lorries, caravans and day tippers).

By the time the 30th April comes around we'll be nicely into Spring. We're really looking forwards to these and other events in 2022.

Merry Christmas 🎅

Saturday 30th April 2022.

There were 12 Moto Guzzis and 1 Buell at this year’s first breakfast meet. Thank you to everyone who attended.

It was a cold start to the day, but it soon warmed up in the lovely Spring sunshine. We arrived at Seaways Café just before 9.00am to be greeted by Doug who had travelled down from Ayr in Scotland the previous day. He had taken advantage of the camping facilities that Seaways offer. Doug has several Guzzis and used his 1989 1000cc Spada 3 based machine for this trip.

The oldest Moto Guzzi at this meet was a 1967 V700, ridden by Paul from Lincoln.

We weren’t sure what level of interest there would be in these informal breakfast meets, but we were pleasantly surprised by the response, especially considering there were lots of other motorcycle events taking place over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend.

Twenty four additional images from the event can be seen on this event webpage: https://www.ukbuellgroup.co.uk/452321880

Looks like a lovely time!

It’s always nice for me, to see a collection of new and old Moto Guzzi motorcycles coming together.

Thanks for posting the pictures!

Saturday 25th June 2022.

There were 5 Moto Guzzis at this year’s third breakfast meet. The MGCGB Pennine Rally was also taking place over the weekend, so we didn’t expect large numbers at Seaways Café.

In addition to our V85TT and V7-750, Glyn from Hull brought his 68,000-mile 1990 1100cc California III, Ken from Scarborough arrived on his new V7-850 Special and Dave from Hornsea brought his 72,000+ mile 1979 Guzzi 1000cc SP special. Thank you to everyone who attended.

Later in the morning, we had a long chat with Gary, who arrived on a Honda 600F. He owns a 1100cc Sport Corsa, a rare, limited-edition machine produced by Guzzi in the late 90’s. It is number 33 out of 200 built. Gary explained that it requires minimal work and a MOT to return it to the road. We hope to see it at a future breakfast meet this year. I’ve included a picture of the original Sport Corsa sales brochure for reference.

Saturday 30th July 2022.

There were 2 Moto Guzzis and 1 Buell at this year’s fourth breakfast meet. We experienced a very wet early start in West Yorkshire and intermittent showers later in the morning in East Yorkshire. Our luck with good weather for these breakfast meets had run out, in style!

When we arrived at Seaways Café the place was deserted save for a 3-wheel Can-Am outfit and a few cars. A mug of coffee and some cooked food soon restored our spirits.

As the rain abated the car park started to fill up with motorcycles. At 10.15am, Conal from Scarborough arrived on his 16,000-mile 2009 Breva 750. It was a very tidy example of this popular model. Shortly before noon as we were leaving Seaways, we spotted a nice California Stone/Watsonian sidecar outfit. We didn’t get to speak to the owner but did manage to take a picture.

Hopefully the next breakfast meet on Saturday 27th August will be held in dryer conditions and normal service will be resumed.

The penultimate 'Breakfast Meet' of 2022 takes place on Saturday and the weather forecast is good. We'll be at Seaways Café for 9.00am.

Saturday 27th August 2022.

There were 15 Moto Guzzis and 2 Buells at this year’s penultimate breakfast meet. Normal service had been resumed with dry and sunny weather bringing an excellent turnout. Thank you to everyone who attended and thanks especially to Chris Horton, who helps to publicise these events.

There was a good selection of Guzzis on show with the earliest being a 1967 V7-750 Ambassador with a 5-speed gearbox. Trevor, who has owned this machine for 15 years, explained it was originally a US police bike and pointed out some of the mounting points for police equipment like the siren and radio platform. It was unrestored and the whole machine exhibited a delightful patina.

V85TT’s were represented with three well used examples. Rob’s 2021 E5 machine was just under a year old but had already covered 16,000 miles. The other two, another 2021 E5 model showed 14,000 miles and a 2019 E4 model showed 22,000 miles.

Flying the Buell flag were our 73,000-mile 2008 XB12X Ulysses and Chris from Lincolnshire brought his superb 22,000-mile M2 Cyclone to the meet.

Saturday 24th September 2022.

There were 16 Moto Guzzis and 1 Buell at the last breakfast meet of the 2022 season. Despite a few rain showers early on and around midday in East Yorkshire it was an excellent turnout. Thank you to everyone who attended.

One of the more eye-catching motorcycles at the meet was a matt green 8-valve Griso owned by Steven. When he bought his Guzzi it was looking rather shabby and needed a face lift. The result is a very tasteful ‘restoration’ with various updates such as LED lighting.

At today’s meet there was 6 Breva 750’s, a record for this event. This successful model, produced between 2003 and 2009, is still very popular.

One of the most pleasing aspects of these breakfast meets is the fact that so many different people have attended during the past 6 months. At the end of 2021 when we first posted the idea, we weren’t sure what the response would be, but they have proved popular and while not everyone can make each meet, they have been well attended. We plan to run them again in 2023.
