Moto Guzzi Motoleggera 65 - Build Year

Hi All,

i've recently bought a Moto Guzzi Motoleggera 65 with Serial number 172492. I need help to determine what the build year is for this bike.
Any help would be greatly appreciated i suspect its somewhere between 48-52.

What a beautiful bike and how stylish it is. I have a 1957 BSA Dandy, that in comparison looks like it was designed by a dyslexic blind 3 year old

Designed by Antonio Micucci in 1944. Approximately 214,497 were made between 1946-1963. They were brought into existence by Enrico Parodi who realized the merchantability of lightweight, low cost, cheap and basic transportation that anybody could afford.

The Moto Guzzi Historical Archive is your best source. 50 Euros will get you a certificate of production date and other information. The link is at the bottom of the web page, under INFO: (web address below - copy and paste in a new window).
