I have owned quite a few motorcycles over the years, but now I have added a V7 to the list.
I have purchased and am waiting delivery of a 2013 V7 Special. It is a very low mileage, unmolested example, white/ red. As soon as it arrives and before I ride it I plan to change the engine oil and filter, gear case oil, and final drive lube. I am very familiar with motorcycle maintenance but this is the first Moto Guzzi that I have worked on. I have purchased a factory use and maintenance book which will arrive in the next couple of days. I have also done some research on what I will need for the fluid changes but there is one item that I am unable to find an answer to. The gear case lubricant, the factory recommends mineral oil based lubricant, but I have also read that synthetic lube is also recommended. What brand/ weigh/ type lubricant is correct? I am sure I will have other questions as time goes on but right now this is the only question I have not been able to find an answer for doing my own research.
Thanks for listening!
Jim
