Why does the Moto Guzzi Adjustable Billet Aluminum Passenger Footrest Kit cost over $900 U.S. when the rider replacement footrests can be had for around $350? I get the adjustability and a few more hardware tidbits but when does this become just plain evil? I'm to the point where I'm realizing I severely misjudged how frustrating the business practices of the Piaggio Group would be. They shut down production of their heavy cruisers and the very next day parts just disappear off the market so you're stuck with a late model bike that you treat like a classic scrounging for parts at swap meets. Just frustrating to find your forever bike and the manufacturer just abandons you.

You can skim this post; https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/‘by-dpm’.20822/ -- somehow the collaboration with Guzzi values the parts weight in gold apparently. I'm shocked to see they sell anything, but I have seen random parts on bikes that come into my shop. I can't give you an answer on pricing, but I will say don't stress over parts. There's a handful people like me that have made a small business from offering parts needed, or helping people get creative to achieve what they want or need for less $ typically... that is, unless it's a full custom part from scratch. If you really must have the DPM billet boards, you can likely catch them on eBay or online from a dealer liquidation sale, or occasionally just blow-out pricing.
Anyway... hope that helps relieve some of the stress.
Moto Guzzi... going out of business since 1921. ;)
