Stopped at the MG dealer today for some farkle shopping after riding most of the day problem free. When we started the bike to leave, huge clouds of white smoke came pouring out of the exhaust pipe. So much so that it left oil running down the exhaust pipe and even oil on the ground !

This 07 Norge with only 4,000 miles has been using oil and billowing white smoke out the tailpipe after been run and parked on it side for 30 minutes. Does not do it all the time, but today was the worst. Afraid to take it home it made so much smoke that I left it there at our new MG dealer to figure out... Hope it is something simple.

What do you think it might be ?

Have you ever drained the airbox tube? Are you overfilling and getting excess oil in the airbox? Specifications for oil capacity are contradictory, one source, 3.9 L another 3.6L. Rings never seated generating excessive crankcase pressure and filling the airbox? Low miles so I doubt the valve guides are worn.

Let us know what the dealer finds.

I will post what the outcome is.....

Just a thought. It could be a bad valve guide, V11's don't use valve guide seals, they just rely on the guide to stop oil from weeping down. I assume newer Guzzi's are the same way. If one of your intake guides is loose when hot then oil could weep down and pool in the intake and get sucked in to the combustion chamber when the motor is started. Or the exhaust valve could do a similar thing but the oil could end up in the exhaust.
While you would hope that on a low mileage bike you would not have this, V11's had issues with soft valve stems that could cause valve guide issues.
