Trying to post a couple of pics but I cant seem to be able to do it. Can some nice person help this dummie.

Yep no worries - make them about 550 pixels long in the largest side, at about 72 DPI resolution and post em up.

Only limitation is that you can only have one pic per post.
 
There are several free program downloads that resize your photos for easy forum posting. I like using PIXresizer
I think google's picasa program resizes and lets you post a link to the photo pretty easily as another alternative
